Version 6.0 It is a great pleasure to announce the release of Drillbench version 6.0.
This release enables integration of well paths directly from the Petrel platform, as well as reading pore-and fracture pressure from the Techlog platform.
Recent severe incidents have highlighted the risk associated with drilling activities and the need for more comprehensive planning to reduce or mitigate drilling hazards. New regulatory requirements for well control also increase the necessity for dynamic modeling of fluids during the drilling process to manage the following events:
- Pressure control (AVOID an influx)
- Well Control (HANDLE an influx)
- Blowout Control (KILL an uncontrolled blowout)
The new Drillbench release includes several new features including support for dual gradient drilling with a subsea pump, improved modeling of managed pressure drilling, and improved dynamic surge and swab calculations. The user experience has been further enhanced with more flexible case specifications and several enhancements.
Drillbench 6.0 is more flexible and more powerful than its predecessor and is better suited for the challenging wells the industry is facing. |

Version 5.1.2 Highlights - A new trend result plot, named Flow through jetsub is available. This plot shows the flow fraction diverted directly into annulus for a jetsub or underreamer. - You can now use a tubing pressure profile in the Pressure profile result plot. - The temperature tables are automatically simplified according to engine requirements. This facilitates exchange of data between Presmod and Kick. - Several bug fixes and increased robustness of Kick and Pressmod

Version 2.1 OLGA Blowout Control
It is a great pleasure to announce the release of version 2.1 of OLGA Blowout Control. The new release is a maintenance release, containing both new features and improvements. Performance is a key issue addressed in this release; additional new workflow enhancements, include:
- An interactive IPR calculator is added to the Reservoir window
- Density profile plots for gas and mixture density is now added to OLGA Blowout Control
- There is no longer a mandatory pre-circulation performed when you start a simulation
- You can specify temperature, pore and fracture pressure as TVD instead of MD
- The reservoir definition now also supports Single Forchheimer
- You can now specify your own settings for absolute roughness for wellbore, drill string and open hole sections.
- OLGA Blowout Control now supports partial opening of the main well BOP
- You can now import Petrel well paths and Techlog LAS pore and fracture pressure
- Improved implementation of losses to the formation – also important for Bullheading
The new release continues to improve the workflow and makes it easier to perform relief well and blowout contingency planning.
Important: This release is available for customers with current lease contracts or active maintenance and support agreements; yet, may require an updated license file. If you need upgraded license files, have any queries as to the license validity or contractual status, please contact your local SPT Group office. |
