HORIZON - Long Distance Transport of Wellstream Fluids
HORIZON II
SPT GROUP and the research institute IFE started July 2008 the new joint industry program HORIZON II together with the leading oil majors: Chevron, ENI, ExxonMobil, StatoilHydro and Shell.
HORIZON II is organized as a 3-year research and development programme. The total programme budget is 30 MNOK.
The HORIZON II programme will address problems related to the cost-effective development and safe operation of:
- Long distance gas-condensate transport
- Long distance transport of oil well-streams
HORIZON I
Today’s field developments demand solutions for greater depths, longer flowlines and more challenging environments.
SPT Group and the research institute IFE will, together with the leading oil majors Chevron, ENI, ExxonMobil, Hydro, Statoil and Shell, meet these challenges with HORIZON, a joint industry program enabling new insight.
The development of Horizon has a four year budget of NOK 63 million and is scheduled for completion in 2008. Adding significant capabilities to the OLGA technology, the Horizon project will refine the foundation of multiphase modeling and increase the understanding and accuracy in prediction of flow assurance throughout the system, from reservoir to processing.
The HORIZON program focuses on research and development that will make possible new field developments far from existing infrastructure, reduce conservatism in design, increase reliability of flow assurance predictions, improve operability of multiphase flowlines and prolong the economic life of fields. All these factors will reduce the CAPEX and/or OPEX costs and increase production. HORIZON II is in the planning phase.
The project was completed July 2008, and replaced by HORIZON II.
