Ubitts Underbalanced Training Simulator captures the transient flow and events during underbalanced drilling, such as blowdown, tripping, connection making and variations in reservoir inflow. The model can be used for detailed engineering design and training of personnel to improve the understanding of the transient response of the well.
Ubitts is an advanced training tool for UBD/MPD operations. Ubitts teaches you the effects experienced in drilling operations. This is a software program enabling the user to study key parameters in the drilling operation. The simulator can be used to look at scenarios such as: Transition from an initially overbalanced condition to an underbalanced condition, Stable UBD operation and dynamic response (pressure and flow rates) at surface, downhole, or other observation points to the changes of controlled variables such as choke opening, pumping rate, density of the pumped fluid, and penetration rate.
Key features
- Capture and show the transient effects of many important actions and events during underbalanced drilling, such as blowdown, drilling, tripping, connection making and variations in reservoir inflow
- Review operational procedures and surface system and to evaluate different responses to problem situations
- Train personnel in identification of well control problems
- Train personnel in the identification of corrective actions.
- Improve understanding of the impact of these actions on the transient response of the well
The simulator engine is based on the powerful OLGA 2000 technology. OLGA 2000 is the marketleading simulator for transient multiphase flow of oil, water and gas in wells and pipelines with process equipment. OLGA 2000 solves the partial differential equations of mass, momentum and energy conservation for the flowing fluid for determining the changes of the flow conditions with time and along the drill string and annulus.
