Hydraulics combines the advanced technological basis of Presmod with a user-friendly interface focused on operational needs. Hydraulics can perform rapid calculations of the pressure conditions in the well. In Hydraulics special attention has been given to covering sensitivity analysis and hydraulic optimization. This software program is a valuable supplement to Presmod.

Hydraulic analysis has become a more and more important part of well planning, since the gap between pore- and fracture pressure is narrowing in many of today's wells. This is the case in HPHT wells, deepwater wells and wells in depleted reservoirs.
Drillbench Hydraulics is based on Presmod - one of the most advanced and well documented hydraulic models in use in the industry. Where Presmod is specialized as a dynamic simulator predicting both temperature and pressure development as function of time, Hydraulics is focusing on steady-state analysis, including sensitivity analysis and hydraulic optimization. In the planning phase a lot of parameters have not been fixed and it is very important to study how changes in some of these parameters affect the well pressure. It is of particular importance to detect the parameters that has the strongest impact on the wellbore pressure in order to evaluate the risk for breaking the barriers and also to establish procedures to monitor these parameters.
