Successful MEPO User Group Meeting in Oslo,Norway

The first open MEPO workshop and User Group Meeting (view picture presentation - pdf) with participants representing 12 industry and research partners took place in Oslo on the 15-16th of September 2008. SPT Group as the organizer of this event was pleased to receive a positive interest in a broad selection of MEPO application areas including Uncertainty Quantification, History Matching as well as Production Optimization.

Industry partners using MEPO as a standard tool supporting reservoir simulation gave a valuable overview on application, deployment and rollout experiences. Presentations document that the introduction of the technology defines a milestone in increasing the efficiency of existing reservoir engineer staff, to accelerate moving away from traditional deterministic sub-surface workflows providing end-end solutions to reservoir uncertainty modelling across all assets, and above all establishing a better understanding of the upside (downside) in existing portfolios.
